Statement of Purpose

The purpose for which this corporation, Saint John First Baptist Church, is formed is the support of public worship
according to the Articles of Faith, The Declaration of Faith and the Church Covenant as found in J.M. Pendleton's Manual,
pages 43-62, the Judson Press, Kansas City, Missouri, 1946, and adhering to the faith and traditions of the people called
Baptist affiliated with the American Baptist Western District Association, American Baptist State Convention of Texas and
the National Baptist Convention.
Our mission is the sharing of the witness of Jesus Christ to the lost in our city, our county, our state,
our nation and around the world; to make and grow disciples in the Word of God and the work of the Lord's Church, to worship
the Lord our God in Spirit and in Truth and to attempt to meet the human needs of those within and without the Church.
We intend to:
1. Seek, invite and compel people
to establish a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and be a faithful member of a local family of Baptized believers.
2. To teach and equip people to wholly love, magnify, and obey God through study,
worship, fellowship, discipleship, stewardship and service.
